Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I'm your host, Catdya (she/any), a 23-year-old NEET who loves drawing, crafting, and writing!. I have a bachelor's in English linguistics and I'm planning on getting a master's in linguistics somewhere in the future. This site mainly serves as a place to host my annotated poetry, blog, and other miscellaneous artwork I've managed to churn out. I talk a lot! My blog posts are long and they cover a range of topics from video game reviews to site shenanigans to personal happenings.

I started learning HTML in March 2025 because I saw Flavor Foley's lyrics annotation and wanted to make one for my own poetry. Before that, my experience with HTML was limited to trying to change my tumblr cursor into something cuter! Along the way I've used tools and templates provided by sadgrl and nomnomnami. This site is also inspired by the likes of ribo.zone and shishka. My site started off as an original character reference page, then something resembling a carrd directory with external links, to what you see now!

This site layout was inspired by my own love of annotating things with sticky notes and my love of scrapbooking! Weirdly, I love when digital works imitate the analog. Digital zines with paper textures, ripped paper, newspaper clippings, bookmark tabs and highlighted texts all feel very charming to me. I've seen a lot of creative layouts for sites that reflect physical spaces/objects so I wanted to do my own take on it.

My time on neocities is spent looking at new zines and reading poems! I love experimental, free-form, almost abstract works that subvert the "rules" of art or include a new kind of genre-mashing into the mix. While you're here, poetics, emilynhoward, and honey-cream are some of my favorite poets on here!

Under my "favorites" tab there are entries about my favorite songs, my favorite games, my favorite sites and neighbors, and my shrines! I collect vampire or supernatural bestiary books when I have the chance. In my years of being in a reading rut, I've found that engaging with children's/YA books on silly monsters critically has been pivotal in resparking the joy I once had in university where I was regularly dissecting works of art and writing.

My goal is to maintain this site and use it as a healthy outlet. The HTML aspect gives me something to learn and improve upon, the blog portion is a healthy way of venting out my feelings, and everything else are bits and pieces of me that feel like the natural expression of a personal website! I love everything that goes into making the pages. Everything from ransom lettering, to scanning the words, editing them, drawing and collecting assets to use, exploring different techniques and layouts, troubleshooting, reading forums, brainstorming new pages, and so much more. I'm a deeply creative person who gets frustrated if I don't learn or express myself in long periods of time, so neocities is a great way for me to pour all of my ideas into one canvas and see what works for me.
